The Quick & Easy Boys’ highly anticipated second full-length album, Red Light Rabbit, is an amalgamation of funk, psychedelic rock, and garage-soul with a slight pinch of honky-tonk. Imagine Ween, Frank Zappa, Electric Six, Funkadelic, The Band and The Minutemen rolled into one.
Formed in 2005, The Quick & Easy Boys quickly made a name for themselves in Eugene, Oregon before heading north and building a Portland, OR fanbase. The band has gained the reputation for moving a crowd all-night long whether it be a big festival or a tiny watering hole.
“a three piece rooted in rock and roll that wears its funk and honky tonk influences on its sleeve. Maybe this is what the Hold Steady would sound like if they came up in Oregon and not New York City.” – The Source Weekly
“The Quick & Easy Boys have been burning up the scene in Portland with their country funk, and now they are riding into town to do the same in Seattle. When I say burning up, I mean they have literally been bringing houses down with their live shows. Their now familiar cheer of ‘Yeah Bud!’ can be heard in venues across the NW.” – Seattle Show Gallery
“Self-describing your band as a hybrid of the Minutemen, Funkadelic, and Willie Nelson is a hell of a burden to place on yourself, but the three mustachioed dudes in The Quick & Easy Boys brought a serious ruckus… tearing through a set of vaguely countrified funk-punk anchored by the hyper-trebly, nimble fingered fretwork… there probably isn’t another band in Portland that sounds like this.” – Willamette Weekly
“the group’s newest CD Red Light Rabbit, sounds like Prince singing over a ’70s disco hit played by a rock band.” – Portland Tribune
“The Quick & Easy Boys can be counted on to consistently deliver an evening of enjoyable and danceable music and have one heck of a good time on stage while doing it!” – Jambase
